DISTANCE LEARNING SHORT COURSES

LISOF’s part-time distance learning short courses offer an alternative access route to fashion enthusiasts unable to attend a tuition centre. LISOF’s two distance learning short courses – one in Fashion Design and one in Patternmaking - are an excellent place to begin your journey into the fabulous world of fashion!

These part-time, distance learning short courses do not offer access to a career in fashion as they do not involve the same degree of learning as the three-year qualification. But, they do offer an exciting beginning.

What you will learn via these two short courses is:

  • A new ‘language’ in fashion

  • Very specific vocational skill-sets

You will be set on the pathway to a number of exciting possibilities:

  • A new hobby
  • Your own micro-enterprise like a flea-market stall

And combined with an existing set of skills could provide just the launching pad necessary for a great career breakthrough.

You will receive the distance learning short courses in an electronic format. You can work through the material on your personal computer or print it out and work on the hard copy. There is no time limit for these courses so you can work at your own pace … anytime, anywhere. Electronic support is provided via the Internet allowing you to ask questions and submit your work for evaluation.

Each of these short courses is explained in full by making a selection from the navigation bar on the left. The explanations cover career opportunities; admission criteria and selection procedures (if any); the structure of the curriculum and subject choices that must be made (if any); information relating to the international recognition of our short courses; and, information for international students. All information relating to a particular distance learning short course can be printed by downloading and printing the Pdf document at the end of the description of the short course.
