This part-time Patternmaking short course does not provide access to a career as a patternmaker or pattern technologist as it cannot compare with the three year full-time qualification.

What you will be able to do after successful completion of the Patternmaking short course is:

• develop the patterns for a range of basic fashion apparel items that represent a fair portion of apparel made and sold today
• understand the basic principles that underscore all patternmaking

And the really talented will be able to continue developing their patternmaking knowledge and skills on their own.
