This short course extends over 3 months and introduces the fundamental principles and techniques of Garment Construction.
You will learn the principles and practices that underpin the construction of basic womanswear garments focusing on use of equipment including machine operation and troubleshooting; fabric, cutting and sewing fundaments; basic seams, hems and finishes; gathers and pleats; waistband, collar and cu attachment, insert and patch pockets; zip and button closures; set-in sleeves and order of construction.
This course is for you if you have an interest in garment construction practice and would like to learn the introductory techniques of manufacturing a finished product!
When you successfully complete this course you will be able to interpret pattern information and make a variety of basic womenswear garments.
