This short course extends over 3 months and introduces the fundamental principles and techniques of Flat Pattern Making.
You will learn the principles and practices that underpin the making of basic womanswear patterns focusing on use of equipment and terminology; flat patterns relative to the three dimensional figure form; dart manipulation and dart equivalents; added fullness; technical drawing analysis; basic closures; garment finishes and details; working pattern and finished pattern processes.
This course is for you if you have an interest in garment construction practice and would like to learn the introductory techniques of flat pattern manipulation!
When you successfully complete this course you will be able to interpret design information and make patterns for a variety of basic womenswear garments.
